Dr. William Halligan has over 20 years of experience treating TMD — Temporomandibular Joint Dysfunction – and in the last few years has developed a special interest in snoring and sleep apnea. He has acquired hundreds of hours of post-graduate education to stay up-to-date with the latest studies and treatments.

In addition, Dr. Halligan regularly lectures to local Dental Societies and Study Clubs on the diagnosis and treatment of TMJ disorders.

William F. Halligan is a 1972 graduate of the University of Southern California’s School of Dentistry. He practiced general dentistry during most of his career with an emphasis on restorative dentistry. Beginning in the 1980’s, Dr. Halligan began a more extensive study of temporomandibular joint (TMJ) related problems, whether they be caused by accidents, growth and development, or a “bad bite.” He has completed hundreds of hours of study with such well-known practitioners such as Dr. Peter Dawson and Dr. Errol Lader and has participated in meetings of The American Academy of Craniofacial Pain (AACP), BioResearch, a firm specializing in electronic diagnostics and he attended the famous Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies (LVI). He is a member of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain and a founding member of the Academy of Clinical Sleep Disorders Dentistry.

Dr. Halligan’s practices located in San Diego are limited to treating temporomandibular dysfunction and orofacial pain.
